Brightwells issue catalogue for May sale

BRIGHTWELLS has released the catalogue for its Cheltenham May evening sale that takes place on Friday May 25.

Cheltenham's record-breaking April sale saw two horses surpass the £300,000 mark, with 13 horses making six-figure prices and this sale comprises plenty of quality.

Brightwells have compiled 91 lots, including 49 winning and placed Irish and British point-to-pointers, as well as horses with smart form in bumpers and under rules.

The sale will be divided into two sessions, with 30 lots selling from 4pm followed by an evening session of select horses.

"This sale offers value for money and the two sections of the sale gives everyone the chance to buy a horse," says Richard Botterill of Brightwells. "Knock A Handis great example he sold last year for £16,500 and has gone on to win four consecutive races this season for trainer Richard Lee.

"This sale has a great atmosphere, and there is plenty of strength and depth to the catalogue which suits a wide range of clients."

The Mighty Milan is an exciting entrant as the five-year-old won his bumper by 14 lengths at Punchestown prior to finishing a highly creditable second last time out at the Curragh.

Monkey Kingdom, who won a bumper at Ludlow on his debut for Rebecca Curtis, may also prove popular. By the recently crowned champion jumps sire King's Theatre, the four-year-old gelding is out of the Grade 2-placed hurdler Blast Freeze and is a half-brother to the Grade 2-winning chaser Wee Robbie.
