Brightwells host Cheltenham January sale

BRIGHTWELLS will host their January sale at Cheltenham after racing on January 30, the day of the Cotswold Chase. The catalogue comprises 60 lots, including horses with form, breeze-up four-year-olds and 12 wild card entries.

The 24 length Navan bumper winner Forty Foot Tom looks an attractive lot on paper, and there are many entries with good Irish point-to-point form on offer too.

There are 30 breeze-up entrants, which include the produce of Flemensfirth, Presenting, Old Vic, Accordian, Beneficial and Robin des Pres.

Last year saw Mr Thriller, Wolf Moon and Drumbaloo sent through the ring, with the first-named bought back for £120,000, Wolf Moon changing hands for £52,000 and Drumbaloo was retained for £34,000.

Wild card entries are currently being accepted for the sale, of which more details can be found on www.brightwells.com.
