Nicene Creed lights up early trade at Brightwells

ONCE-raced bumper performer Nicene Creed was the star early lot at Brightwells' Cheltenham Hunter Chase Meeting Sale on Wednesday.

Eugene McDermott's five-year-old is set to race for an existing client of Aiden Murphy's after the agent fought off County Carlow trainer John ‘Shark' Hanlon to secure the son of Hernando at £175,000.

"I was at Punchestown when he finished second in his bumper. He got badly cut up and showed a very willing attitude when he finally got out," said Murphy.
