Dalakhani: the Arc winner sired the top lot of €45,000

Dalakhani filly holds sway at breeze-up

A LOW key Tattersalls Ireland Flat Breeze-Up was headed by a €45,000 daughter of Dalakhani who is destined to go into training in Britain.

With a relatively small pool of buyers in attendance at the sale, which replaced the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-Up, trade was quite selective and 35 of the 62 horses to come under the hammer were sold for a clearance rate of 56 per cent.

Turnover came in at €294,100, the average was €8,304 and the median €5,000.

It was an industrious afternoon for Sheila and Cathy Grassick's Newtown Stud which sold the top two lots. Taking centre stage was the aforementioned daughter of Dalakhani who was knocked to John Cullinan for €45,000.

The filly is out of a half-sister to a French Listed winner from the family of Invincible Spirit and Kodiac.

Cullinan was acting on behalf of a client of Cathy Grassick's and afterwards the she reported: "She has been bought on behalf of Yvonne Jacques who is a client of mine. She was involved in Harbinger and we bought a Teofilo yearling at the December Sale in Newmarket".

"This filly will go into trainingin Britain where Yvonne has her horses. We sold this filly on behalf of another client. She was born and raised on the farm," she added.
