Hellvelyns 1st FoalPICTURE: Roisin Close
Breakthrough foal for Bucklands sire Hellvelyn
THE first foal of Hellvelyn, the Gloucestershire-based sire who took up stud duties last year, has been born.
She was described by Roisin Close, the owner/manager of Bucklands Farm, as "a stunning and strong filly who is very correct. I couldn't be happier with her."
A son of Ishiguru, who stood at nearby Tweenhills Stud, Hellvelyn won the Group 2 Coventry Stakes in 2006 and later an allowance race on tuf at Gulfstream.
Meanwhile, Llety Stud in Carmarthenshire welcomed the birth of the first foal by their resident stallion Stimulation.
The new arrival is a bay/brown colt out of the Fraam mare Noble Nova, a winning half-sister to Noble One, dam of the dual Group 1 winner Peeress and from the family of Tender Loving Care and Satinette.
Llety Stud owner David Hodge said: "It is such a relief to get the first foal on the ground, and such a correct one at that. We can now start to look forward to the sales and racing careers of Stimulation's progeny with renewed confidence."
