Bonus winner Gabrial adds to Dark Angel haul

IN LANDING a £10,000 Racing Post Yearling Bonus, newcomer Gabrial shone the spotlight further on the dazzingly quick start made at stud by Dark Angel, who also sired the runner-up Sea Odyssey.

This was Dark Angel's ninth win from his first juvenile crop in Britain and Ireland.

Gabrial was bred by Brian Kennedy and sold by Yeomanstown Stud as a yearling for £46,000 at Doncaster when bought by Bobby O'Ryan. He was a second bonus winner of the season for owner Marwan Koukash.

At Ffos Las, Richard Hannon trained his sixth bonus winner of 2011when Mr Majeika won at the second time of asking. Owned by Dougie McKay, Mr Majeika was bred and consigned as a yearling by Barouche Stud. The son of Oasis Dream made €55,000.
