APT APPROACH (9 ch g Bob Back - Imminent Approach by Lord Americo)

Bred by N. J. Connors in Ireland

THE feature event on Thursday's card at Thurles went the way of the Willie Mullins-trained Apt Approach, who was one of two runners in the race for the late Burgage Stud stallion Bob Back alongside Roberto Goldback.

Bob Back, a Group 1-winning son of Roberto, died early last year following a long and successful stud career in which he was represented by St Leger winner Bob's Return on the Flat and the likes of Bacchanal, Back In Front and Bobs Worth over jumps.

One of two winners out of the unraced Imminent Approach, Apt Approach hails from a successful jumps family. His dam is a half-sister to 1994 Galway Plate winner Feathered Gale and Grade 3 scorer Magical Approach and closely related to the 1978 Hennessy Gold Cup hero Approaching.
