Distorted Humor fee slashed at WinStar Farm

KENTUCKY operation WinStar Farm has cut the fee for leading US sire Distorted Humor by a third, from $150,000 to $100,000, for the 2010 season.

The son of Forty Niner stood at a high of $300,000 in 2008, thanks to a strong reputation built by siring outstanding performers such as Funny Cide, Any Given Saturday, Flower Alley and Commentator.

WinStar has also swung the axe at the fees for Bluegrass Cat, who is down from $40,000 to $25,000 for 2010, and Sharp Humor, who has been reduced from $12,500 to $7,500, as well as Spring At Last, who entered stud this year priced at $15,000 but will stand for half that amount next year.

Fees for Tiznow, whose standard-bearer in 2009 was Dubai World Cup hero Well Armed, and Speightstown, sire of Lord Shanakill, have been left unaltered.

Recently retired Colonel John will enter stud at a feeof $15,000.
