Juddmonte's early foals led by Clepsydra colt

CLEPSYDRA, one of the stars of Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte broodmare band, produced a dark bay or brown colt foal by Dansili on February 19.

The new arrival isa brother to Criterium de Saint-Cloud winner Passage Of Time and King Edward VII Stakes winner Father Time, and is a half-brother to last season's Falmouth Stakes winner Timepiece.

Clepsydra is a 15-year-old winning daughter of Sadler's Wells and Quandary, a half-sister to Prix du Moulin winner All At Sea. Clepsydra's winning half-sister Quiet produced her first foal, a bay filly by Rail Link, on January 18.

Another Juddmonte star mare, Binche, also has two Group 1 winners on her stud record - four-time US Grade 1 winner Proviso and Prince of Wales's Stakes winner Byword - and she produced her latest foal, an Oasis Dream colt, on February 6.

Etoile Montante, who carried the Juddmonte silks to victory in the 2003 Prix de la Foret, produced a Dansili filly foal on February 19. The daughter of Miswaki is the dam of last year's Group 3-placed filly Starformer.

Prestige Stakes runner-up Ithaca also has a newborn Dansili foal on the ground, a February 23-born colt who is a brother to Celebration Mile winner Zacinto.

An Oasis Dream filly out of Yorkshire Oaks winner Quiff was Juddmonte's first foal of the year on Janaury 15, and she was followed by a chestnut Three Valleys colt out of Pure Joy, a Zamindar half-sister to Mutual Trust, and an Oasis Dream filly out of Honest Quality, a half-sister to Juddmonte's US stallion First Defence.

Listed-winning mare Arabesque produced an Oasis Dream filly who is a sister to Gimcrack Stakes winner Showcasing on January 25, while Arabesque's Listed-placed daughter Bouvardia delivered a Three Valleys filly on February 19.

Recent foals from the second crop of Dansili's brother Champs Elysees include a bay colt out of Wemyss Bay, a sister to Beat Hollow, and a colt out of Talkative who is closely related to Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes winner Price Tag.
