Further declines at Keeneland on Thursday

THE five-year-old Gold Legend mare Quick Command, in foal to Bernstein, topped Thursday's session of Keeneland's November Breeding Stock Sale when sold for $100,000. She is from the family of European champion Katies and was purchased by E-Stable and consigned by Belvedere Farm.

Hill ‘n' Dale Bloodstock went to $70,000 to acquire a filly foal from the first crop of Congrats out of the Personal Hope mare Saramy. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, the filly is a half-sister to stakes winner Babaganush.

Seedling, a three-year-old Forestry mare in foal to War Front, also brought a bid of $70,000 from Carlo S.E. Moore. Consigned by Claiborne Farm, the filly is from the family of Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Sea Hero and graded stakes winners Wild Applause, Hero's Honor and Roar.

Overall, 230 horses for $2,993,700, a fall in the aggregate of 35 per cent from a year ago when 259 horses fetched $4,622,200. Average price of $13,016 was a decrease of 27 per cent from last year's comparable session average of $17,846. The median price fell by $10,000 from the $14,000 achieved  in 2007.
