Brave Laaheb gives Cape Cross Lodge success

Grosvenor Casinos Cumberland Lodge Stakes (Group 3) Ascot, 1m4f

LAAHEB (Cape Cross - Maskunah by Sadler's Wells)

Breeder: Darley

LAAHEB took a second Group3 on the bounce, when the Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned four-year-old battled gamely to deny Godolphin's Whispering Gallery in a photo-finish.

A son of Cape Cross, Laaheb is a daughter of Maskunah, an unraced half-sister by Sadler's Wells, to Group 1 winners Warrsan and Luso, and also Cloud Castle and Needle Gun, both placed at the top level.

Now gelded, Laaheb was knocked down for 200,000gns as a yearling form Book 1 of the Tattersalls October sale.

Laaheb is one of two Group winners for his sire in Britain this year, the other being fellow Group 3 scorer Sea Lord. He is also the sire of Arc favourite Behkabad.
