Breeder: Woodlands Stud in Australia

FURTHER big race success from the Woodlands Stud package came the way of Sheikh Mohammed on Saturday when Beaded nosed out Love Conquers All in the Doomben 10,000 at Doomben in Australia.

The five-year-old mare becomes the second Group 1 winner by Lonhro following Golden Rose Stakes scorer Denman, who now stands under the Darley Australia banner alongside his sire.

Saturday's victory saw Beaded earn A$415,000, enough to push Lonhro past longtime leader High Chaparral at the head of the Australian leading sires' championship. In all, the son of Octagonal, who was Australian Horse of the Year and an 11-time Group 1 winner, is the sire of 25 stakes winners from four crops of racing age.

Lonhro will stand the upcoming southern hemisphere season at Darley's Kelvinside base for A$77,000.

Beaded is the third of five foals out multiple winner Subtle, who died in 2007 after foaling a filly by Viscount. As well as Beaded, the mare has also produced Group 3 winner Rarefied (by Commands).

Beaded represents the emerging cross of Lonhro over Night Shift mares, which has also produced the Group 1-placed Parables, Group 3 winner Trim and Listed winner Dysphonia.
