BC Juvenile winner Wilko to stand in Alberta

WILKO, winner of the 2004 Breeder's Cup Juvenile for Jeremy Noseda, will stand the 2013 season at Highfield Stock Farm near Alberta, Canada. A fee will be announced at a later date.

The son of Awesome Again has spent his entire stud career to date standing under the Adena Springs banner, most recently at their base in Canada. The operation will continue to support the stallion at Highfield.

Wilko ranked as last year's leading Canadian first-crop sire and currently heads the second-crop sire list thanks to 15 winners including the Group 2-placed Don Carlos R.

Wilko's success in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile over subsequent Classic winner Afleet Alex capped a busy juvenile season for Noseda in which he also won twice at Yarmouth and ran second in the Hollywood Futurity and Vintage Stakes.

He was also later placed in the Santa Anita Derby, Dubai World Cup and Santa Anita Handicap.
