Goresbridge breeze-up catalogue released

GORESBRIDGE has catalogued 148 two-year-olds for the sixth edition of its breeze-up sale on May 20.

The lots will breeze on Gowran Park at 6pm on May 19 and come they under the hammer at the Goresbridge sales complex in County Kilkenny at 1pm on the following day.

The auction has made a name for itself by selling lastseason's Falmouth Stakes winner Music Show, who was bought for €16,000, and this month's Nell Gwyn Stakes scorer and 1,000 Guineas hope Barefoot Lady, who was bought for €30,000.

Both fillies were signed for by bloodstock agent Gill Richardson.

The catalogue features some attractive pedigrees, including Castlefarm Stud's Holy Roman Emperor half-brother to Listed winner Messager Du Roi from the family of Arcano and Gilt Edge Girl and Grove Stud's Sleeping Indian half-brother to last season's Mill Reef Stakes winner Temple Meads.

Plus Knockatrina House's High Chaparral half-sister to Listed scorer Soviet Flash and granddaughter of Bloomsbury Stud blue hen Mrs Moss, and Rossenarra Stud's Saffron Walden half-sister to Rosebery Stakes winner Arctic Feeling.

Last year's sale generated turnover of €1,065,300 with an average price of €10,050 and median of €5,800.
