Naaqoos half-brother retired to stud in France

BARASTRAIGHT, winner of the Group 3 Prix la Force, will stand at Haras des Sablonnets next season alongside Smadoun.

A €1,500 fee has been set for the son of Barathea, who is a half-brother to last season's Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere winner Naaqoos.

Barastraight started his career under the care of Jean-Claude Rouget, for whom he won two races including the Prix la Force with subsequent Group 1 winner Septimus in arrears.

He was also placed in the Group 2 Prix Guillaume d'Ornano and Group 3 Prix Andre Baboin before being transferred to the US, where he was successful in a minor turf event.

A €90,000 yearling purchase by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Barastraight is a great-grandson of Ballymacoll matriarch Gaily and therefore from the same family as Pilsudski and Youmzain.

A Green Desert half-brother to Barastraight is catalogued as lot 19 at the upcoming Arqana August Sale.
