Ballymacoll Stud welcomes first 2011 foals

THE prestigious Ballymacoll Stud in County Meath, breeders of numerous Group 1 winners including Conduit, Sun Princess and Troy, has welcomed its first four foals of 2011.

The first arrival on January 17 was a Dansili filly out of Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf heroine Islington. She is Islington's fifth living foal, all of whom have been fillies. The mare visits Oasis Dream this year.

Ballymacoll's second foal, a Pivotal colt, was foaled by Islington's sister Olympienne on January 21. The mare, already the dam of Ascot Gold Cup runner-up Patkai and Henry II Stakes runner-up Saptapadi, is booked to Danehill Dancer this spring.

Kitty Hawk, a Grade 3-placed daughter of Danehill Dancer purchased by Ballymacoll for $400,000, foaled a Monsun colt on Janaury 24. She visits Nayef.

Gift Range, a Listed-placed sister to Golan and Tartan Bearer, produced a Pivotal filly on January 27. She is set to be covered by Dubawi this spring.

Among the foalings to look forward to Ballymacoll in the coming weeks are Drama Class, who is carrying to Sea The Stars, and Golan, Tartan Bearer and Gift Range's dam Highland Gift, who is carrying a Galileo foal.
