Lawman is the seventh first season sire to score

BALLYLINCH stallion Lawman, whose debut crop of yearlings were well received last year,  struck with his first winner when Seven Year Itch made all to win the Selling Stakes at Catterick.

Although the David Evans-trained filly was unsold at €1,000 last year, overall Lawman averaged 49,219gns for 29 yearlings sold  (53,321gns for colts, 38,451gns for fillies) off a fee of €25,000.

Lawman, who has had two runners so far in Britain and Ireland,  is the seventh first-season sire to get off the mark this season.

Morristown Lattin sire Dark Angel is the current leader with three winners, one ahead of Tally Ho's Red Clubs, whose first winner Jack Who's He struck again at Newmarket in the Equine Products UK Conditions Stakes.
