Zenyatta of the United States works out in the morning in preparation for the Breeders Cup 2009

Three-parts brother
to Zenyatta born

BALANCE, a Grade 1-winning half-sister to the brilliant Zenyatta, gave birth to her second foal on January 25, a colt by Street Cry.

The new arrival is a three-parts brother to Zenyatta and unsurprisingly, Balance is booked back to Street Cry, who stands at Darley at Jonabell inKentucky for $150,000.

Jerry Amerman's seven-year-old daughter of Thunder Gulch is also the dam of a yearling colt by A P Indy.

Balance retired to stud as the winner of over $1m in earnings following victories in the Santa Anita Oaks, Las Virgenes Stakes and Santa Margarita Invitational Handicap. She was also placed in four other Grade 1 races.

As well as Zenyatta, whose unbeaten run of 14 races encompasses eight victories at Grade 1 level including the Breeders' Cup Classic, Balance is a half-sister to minor stakes winner Where's Bailey (Aljabr).

Their dam, the Kris S mare Vertigineux, has a yearling filly by Bernardini named Eblouissante and is due to Henrythenavigator.
