Silvano colt tops BBAG October finale at €32k

A YEARLING son of Silvano topped trade on the second and final day of the BBAG October mixed sale at Baden-Baden on Saturday.

The colt is out of the In The Wings mare Maramara, a half-sister to Group 3-placed Madresal, and was bought by Italian trainer Enrico Brogini from the consignment of Gestut Fahrhoffor €32,000.

Brogini has trained Majari, Maramara's five-year-old son by Marju, to win.

Next best was the three-year-old colt D'Artagnan, bought by French bloodstock agent Pierre Boulard for €24,000.

Out of a Danehill half-sister to Corre Caminos and Racinger, D'Artagnan has finished placed three times from six starts for trainer Mirec Rulec.

There were plenty of vendor buybacks and unsold lots at the October sale and it concluded with 54 per cent of the 360 lots sold for turnover of €1,276,800 at an average of €5,650 - down from €6,827 last year.
