Ghostzapper
slashed to $50,000

FRANK Stronach's US Horse of the Year Ghostzapper has had his fee more than halved to $50,000 for the 2010 season. The son of Awesome Again, whose first crop are two-year-olds and include stakes winner Golden Ghost, entered stud at Adena Springs in Kentucky in 2006 at a fee of $200,000 and stood in 2009 for $125,000.

Adena Springs has also reduced the fee by the same margin for his sire, Awesome Again. He stood the past season at $125,000 and in 2008 for $150,000.

In all, seven of Adena's 14 established stallions will stand for less than they did in 2009, including six who are based in Kentucky. Fees for the operation's new stallions, which include Einstein and Tiago, will be announced at a later date.
