Meydan: new Group winner for Danetime

THERE was a further reminder of the void left by Danetime's death in 2005 on Thursday when Aspectoflove, a member of his final crop, won the Group 2 Cape Verdi at Meydan.

Danetime stood at Tally-Ho Stud throughout his northern hemisphere career at stud and despite never commanding more than €8,500, is the sire of 19 Group winners worldwide. They areheaded by the European juvenile Group 1 scorers Bushranger, who filled the gap left by his sire at Tally-Ho, and Myboycharlie. Both stallions have their first foals on the ground this season.

Bred by Patrick Cassidy on the same Danetime-Caerleon cross as Australian Group 3 winners Danebeela (out of a mare by Tenby) and So Secret (out of a mare by Bletchley Park), Aspectoflove is a half-sister to four minor winners and out of the unraced Rose Vibert. Her second dam is the Listed winnerPremier Rose, a sister to 1978 Fred Darling Stakes heroine Shapina.
