Arrowfield cuts fee of leading sire Redoute's

STAR stallion Redoute's Choice has been handed a sizeable cut in fee for this year's southern hemisphere breeding season, covering at an advertised Aus$137,500 (£88,578/€100,442) from Aus$176,000 last year.

Of the stud's nine stallions, four have been dropped in fee, three have stayed the same and Starcraft and "bargain basement" sire Not A Single Doubt have been raised.

The stud's chairman John Messara said: "These fees have been set after close analysis of the Easter Yearling Sale results, and the prevailing economic conditions.

"We believe that our 2011 fees accurately reflect market expectations and offer breeders excellent opportunities for profit. "

Redoute's Choice was the leading sire by average at last week's Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale lastweek with 30 of his stock sold for an average of  $456,667.
