Beneteau to join his sire Redoute's at Arrowfield

BENETEAU, an Aus$1 million yearling purchase, has been retired to stand alongside his sire Redoute's Choice at Arrowfield Stud, where his debut fee this season will be Aus$11,000 (7,161/€8,086).

A winner on his debut, Beneteau went on to land the Group 3 MRCBlue Diamond Prelude before finishing third to Star Witness in the Group 1 MRC Blue Diamond Stakes.

His subsequent career was impacted by back injury. "It is always disappointing to retire a colt that has not had the chance to display the full measure of his talent on the racecourse," said Arrowfield chairman John Messara, whose operation bred and co-owned the four-year-old.   "However, the the example of sensational young sire Not A Single Doubt (also at Arrowfield), who retired as a Listed winner and began his career at a similar fee gives us great confidence in Beneteau."
