Arqana breeze-up
catalogue released

ARQANA has catalogued 165 two-year-olds for their breeze-up sale that commences on the eve of the French Guineas. The breezes will take place on the Friday 11 on the racecourse's turf track, with the sale starting the following day.

85 of the 165 catalogued two-year-olds will be eligible for French Breeders' Premiums.

Fastnet Rock, who sired his ninth Group 1 winner in Australia last week, is represented by lot 118, the only juvenile in Europe by the sire. Consigned by The Channel Consignment, the colt is a half-brother to the Group 1 Queensland Derby winner Dariana.

Teofilo, who sired Group 1 winner Parish Hall in his first season, is the sire of lot 61, a colt out of the Group 2-placed mare Salsa Brava consigned by Ecurie Prevost-Barrate.

Ballylinch resident Lawman is represented by four juveniles, the possible highlight lot 27, a half-sister to the French Listed winner Pietra consigned by Oak Tree Farm.

Kilminfoyle House Stud consign a Tamayuz filly out of a dual-winning half-sister to the triple Group 1 winner Halfway To Heaven.

The catalogue comprises a number of outstanding female pedigrees, with no less than 46 two-year-olds out of black type mares. Lot 59, consigned by Powerstown Stud, is a Street Cry filly out of Roshani, a Grade 2 and dual Grade 3 winner in the US.

Champion sire Galileo is represented by the Hawthorn Villa Stud-consigned lot 79, a colt out of the Group 1 Prix Vermeille winner Sweet Stream.

The sale has become a sound source of horses that can perform at the highest level. Recent graduates include Testosterone; a Dansili filly who was successful in the Group 2 Prix de Malleret and Group 3 Prix du Pin winner Best Dating.

Last year's sale topper was a Giant's Causeway filly consigned by WillieBrowne, who was knocked down to Charlie Gordon-Watson for €260,000.
