Arqana February to include Hakam dispersal

A DISPERSAL of bloodstock owned by the late  Zakaria Hakam, who died suddenly in December aged 50, will be staged by the Arqana February Sale at Saint-Cloud on February 16.

Although a major owner in Morocco, Hakam had horses in France with Guy Henrot, Jean de Roualle and Mikel Delzangles. With the assistance of advisor Pierrick Rouxel, he also owned a breeding operation, which was based at Haras de Maulepaire.

Among the 28 lots on offer next month at Arqana is a two-year-old Araafa colt out of Group 3 winner Afaf; Afaf's winning half-sister Selouma and her yearling colt by Rail Link; Ivory Coast, the dam of Listed winner Ivory Land; and the Listed-placed Zaynab who is in foal to Ad Valorem.

The Arqana February Sale will take place at Saint-Cloud this year due to the refurbishment of the Deauville sales complex.
