ARCHARCHARCH (Arch - Woodman's Dancer by Woodman)

Breeder: Grapestock LLC

THE Arkansas Derby was won by the Robert and Loval Yagos-owned Archarcharch on Saturday night, whose names was perhaps inspired by his sire's, Arch.

The colt, trained by William Spires, was purchased by his owner for $60,000 at the Keeneland September yearling sale from Paramount Sales agency. He has now won half of his six starts and has career earnings of $832,744.

His dam,Woodman's Dancer, was third in a Grade 2 handicap in the US and is out of Hollywood Oaks winner Pattern Step.

She is a half-sister to stakes winner Seattle Pattern and to the dams of Arch Rebel, Group 2-placed in France, and Arch Swing, who won the Group 3 One Thousand Guineas Trial at Leopardstown and was second to Finsceal Beo in the 1,000 Guineas. Both are by Arch.

Arch stands for $30,000 at Claiborne Farm, Kentucky.
