ARCANO, winner of the Group 2 TNT July Stakes, has been sold to Hamdan Al Maktoum but will remain in training with Brian Meehan at Manton.

The Oasis Dream colt, who also won on his debut at Newbury, will reappear in the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville on August 23.

He was bought as a yearling for 90,000gns by a partnership including members of the Sangster family, owners of the Manton Estate in Wiltshire.

Meehan said: "Arcano is a smashing colt and he has been in tremendous form since the July Stakes. We are looking forward to the Prix Morny."

Arcano will beMeehan's first horse for Sheikh Hamdan.

"It is a great honour to have a horse for him," added the trainer.

Arcano is a son of young Juddmonte sire Oasis Dream, whose star is firmly in the ascendancy with a glut of high-class performers over a wide variety of distances this year, including July Cup runner-up Main Aim and Oaks second Midday.

Oasis Dream also sired Cherry Hinton Stakes heroine Misheer at the Newmarket July Festival.
