Arc hero Sagamix on the move to Morocco

PRIX de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Sagamix is leaving Overbury Stud in Gloucestershire to continue his stallion career in Morocco.

The 17-year-old son of Linamix will stand privately at Jacobey Stud, where he will be used to cover the owner's broodmare band of around 35.

Sagamix was trained by Andre Fabre for owner-breeder Jean-Luc Lagardere to stay unbeaten  at three, culminating in a victory over Leggera and Tiger Hill in the Arc.

Sagamix is out of the Sagace mare Saganeca, a winner of the Prix de Royallieu who also produced Criterium de Saint-Cloud winner Sagacity, Prix de Malleret winner Sage Et Jolie, the dam of Sageburg, and Sagalina, the dam of this season's Prix Saint-Alary heroine Sagawara.

Sagamix began his stud career at the Haras du Logis in Normandy and moved to Overbury in 2010 to take on a dual-purpose role.

He is the sire of Willie Mullins' promising chaser Flat Out and the useful dual-purpose performers Royal Mix and Nickelle, a Listed winner on the Flat before going hurdling.
