Apology - Sir Charles Colthurst

In an article published in the Irish Racing Post on 20 December 2011 under the headline "Merry wins Court Battle" we carried a quote from Hugo Merry in which he said "I have always lived by the adage that my word is my bond so when the horse was stolen from me and my word was questioned, I had no choice but to seek redress through the Courts".

This quote related to the horse "the Blarney Highwayman" which was the subject matter of court proceedings between Mr. Merry and Sir Charles Colthurst.  We have been asked to point out that these proceedings related solely to issues between Sir Charles and Mr. Merry in relation to their respective ownership proportions of the horse.  We wish to apologise to Sir Charles Colthurst for any embarrassment or upset caused.
