Anngrove Stud buys Robin Des Pres

ROBIN DES PRES, sire of the exciting young chasers and Cheltenham hopes Petit Robin, Panjo Bere and Possol, has been purchased to stand at David and Alastair Pim's Anngrove Stud in County Laois, Ireland.

He joins Pilsudski and Rudimentary on the Anngrove stallion roster, and his fee for 2009 has been set at €2,500.

By Cadoudal, he is a 15-year-old half-brother to Robin Des Champs, who is also a new arrival in Ireland from France this year after being purchased by Rathbarry Stud.

Other high-class jumpers sired by Robin Des Pres include Henry VIII Novices' Chase winner Marodima and Grade 1-placed hurdler Patman Du Charmil.

The sale was brokered by Anthony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock, who said: "I have had a lot of success with Robin Des Pres' progeny and they do particularly well over British fences, progressing as theymature.

"I believe he is one of the very best French stallions to have been brought over to Ireland in recent years."
