Mick Kinane and Sea The Stars after Arc

Watch one of Sea The Stars' first foals on video

THE second foal sired by 2009's exceptional world champion Sea The Stars has "enormous presence" according to James Kelly, manager of his joint-owner Castlemartin Stud.

And Racing Post readers can judge for themselves by viewing the short video of the foal walking at the County Kildare farm with groom Mick Duggan.

The foal is a grey colt produced by first-time mother Alpine Rose, winner of the Prix Jean Romanet and a sister to Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud winner Fragrant Mix.

He was born on February 3 and is shown in the video on February 16, one day shy of turning two weeks old.

Kelly said: "The foal has developed superbly well - he's really strengthened up. He's actually grown staggeringly quickly for a young colt and he has enormous presence."

He added that Alpine Rose is relishing motherhood.

The colt was bred in partnership by Castlemartin Stud owner Lady O'Reilly, Lucien Orano of the Ecurie des Monceaux and Charles-Henri de Moussac of the Haras de Mezeray, who bought Alpine Rose for €550,000 at the Arqana December sale.
