Librettist to continue stud career in Italy

LIBRETTIST, sire of multiple Group winner Libranno, will continue his stud career in Italy this year after spending his first five years in Britain and France.

The ten-year-old son of Danzigspent his first two seasons at Darley's Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket and the next three seasons at the Haras du Logis in Normandy.

He will continue to stand under the Darley banner at his new home, Marco Lucarelli's Allevamento Fattoria di Renaccino in Siena, where he will stand alongside former Lanwades stallion Vita Rosa. His fee has been set at €3,500.

Librettist, a half-brother to Dubai Destination, was one of the leading milers of the 2006 season, winning the Prix Jacques le Marois and Prix du Moulin for the Godolphin camp.

His first crop of runners hit the track in 2010 and his best performer to date isthe Richard Hannon-trained Libranno, who won the July and Richmond Stakes at two, and the Criterion and Supreme Stakes at three last year.
