Fifth winner for Dark Angel lands payout

DARK Angel fired in his fifth first-crop winner when Alejandro held off the challenge of Almond Branches (by Dutch Art) to take the 5f maiden at Musselburgh on Saturday and earn his owners, F L S Ltd, a £10,000 Racing Post Yearling Bonus.

The colt, who was second on his debut at Ripon 16 days previously, is the third two-year-old bonus winner to hail from the Richard Fahey stable this season following Miss Work Of Art and Lily's Angel.

Alejandro was appropriately bred by Yeomanstown Stud, the sister operation of Morristown Lattin Stud which stands Dark Angel for €7,000. A half-brother to two winners, Alejandro is out of the Listed-placed Carallia, a Common Grounds half-sister to Prix de la Foret winner Caradak. He was knocked down to Robin O'Ryan for 25,000gns at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Sale.
