Alberta's increases Irish lead over French-breds

IRISH-breds increased their lead over their French counterparts to eight wins over five after Albertas Run stormed home to land the Ryanair Chase.

The son of Accordian also emphasised the fine run enjoyed at this Festival by graduates of Tattersalls Ireland. Albertas Run went twice through their ring, firstly when sold as a yearling by his breeders Oliver and Salome Brennan to John O'Byrne for 11,000 gns. He was sold again three years later to Highflyer Bloodstock for €20,000.

The nine-year-old's dam, the unraced Le Moss mareHolly Grove Lass, is a half-sister to the top hurdler Mister Morose.
