Rausing and trainer Sir Mark Prescott will now be keen to acquire some black-type for Albaraka since she is a Selkirk daughter of dual Champion Stakes heroine Alborada and sister to Listed winner Alvarita. Another sibling, the Danzig colt Aladao, stands at stud in South Africa.

A descendant of Alruccaba, Albanova is an Alzao sister to champion and triple Group 1 winner Albanova and out of the Group 1-placed Allouette, herself a sister to Jude, dam of the Group 1-winning fillies Quarter Moon and Yesterday.

No fewer than 14 stakes winners descend from Alruccaba, among them Allegretto, Dragon Dancer, Last Second and Midas Eyes.

Alborada has a two-year-old colt by With Approval named Albion and a yearling colt by Nayef.
