Kirsten Rausing: retained Albamara

  PICTURE: EDWARD WHITAKER

Thefilly is by the all-conquering Galileo and from one of the best families in Europe - she is a daughter of Albanova (Alzao), a three-time Group 1 winner in Germany who is sister to the dual Champion Stakes (G1) winner, Alborada.

Albamara was retained by breeder Kirsten Rausing, however her 2006 Sadler's Wells half-sister was sold by Rausing at the 2007 Goffs Million Sale where she fetched €2.4 million. Named Jane Eyre, she ran just once when unplaced for trainer Aiden O'Byrne.

Galileo got his 100th worldwide stakes winner at the weekend when Opera Gal won the Listed August Stakes at Windsor. The Coolmore stallion boasts 24 individual Group 1 winners (nine this year) following the victory by unbeaten two-year-old filly Maybe (Galileo-Sumora (Danehill)) in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at The Curragh over the weekend.
