A SECOND juvenile stakes winner of the season came the way of Invincible Spirit on Friday afternoon when Godolphin's Al Aasifh landed the Rose Bowl Stakes at Newbury from Cape To Rio (by Captain Rio).

Only two weeks ago, another member of Invincible Spirit's fifth crop, Zebedee, demonstrated his talent by taking the Listed Dragon Stakes at Sandown.

Al Aasifh - a €90,000 Goffs Orby purchase by John Ferguson - is the eighth European stakes winner of 2010 for Invincible Spirit, who stands at the Irish National Stud for €45,000. Although primarily an influence for speed, Invincible Spirit's haul of stakes winners this season also includes the 1m4f Group 2 winner Allied Powers.

In taking the Rose Bowl, Al Aasifh emulates his dam, Urgele, by scoring at Listed level. The daughter of Zafonic was successful in the Listed Prix du Casino d'Arcachon-La Sorellina and ran third in the Group 3 Prix Miesque. She is also the dam of minor winner Cordell.

Further back, it is the family of Group 2 winner Gunboat Diplomacy and Argentinean champion Riton.

Urgele has a yearling filly by Rock Of Gibraltar.
