Silent Name to shuttle to Haras Ponta Pora in

ADENA SPRING's stallion Silent Name, who stands at Gardiner Farms in Ontario season as part of an AdenaSprings venture with the farm's owner Dr. Michael Colterjohn, is to shuttle to Haras Ponta Pora in Brazil for the southern hemisphere season.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for Silent Name to become part of the Brazilian racingand breeding program," said Andy Stronach, president of Adena Springs. "Silent Name is by Sunday Silence and out of a Danehill mare. He has a powerhouse pedigree that will make an international impact on the breed."

TBSAgency of Brazil brokered the deal between Adena Springs and Haras Ponta Pora.

Silent Name, a son of Sunday Silence, is out of Danzigaway (Danehill) and from the family of Gold Away. He was bred by Wertheimer et Frere.

As a two and three-year-old he was trained in France by Criquette Head-Maarek, where he twice won at Listed level, before finishing third in the Prix du Pin and fourth in the Prix de la Foret.

Transferred to the US and trainer Robert Frankel for his four and five-year-old years, he went on to win twice at Grade 2 level. He also finished third in Grade 1 events over 7f and a mile three times. He retired to stud for the 2008 season.
