Adena Springs top US breeder for sixth year
ADENA SPRINGS was the leading individual breeder in the US in 2008. It is the sixth consecutive year that the Frank Stronach-owned operation, which has farms in Kentucky, Florida and Canada, has been awarded the title.
According to figures released by The Jockey Club of North America, Adena Springs was also the leading breeder when partnerships were included.
Individually, Adena Springs bred the winners of 603 races from 3,671 starts, for total earnings of $19,217,703. Raven's Pass's breeders Stonerside Stable were second, having bred the winners of 98 races from 518 starts for earnings of $7,433,027.
Among the horses bred by Adena Springs who flourished in 2008 was the triple Grade 1-winning mare Ginger Punch.
