Addictive Dream catalogued to ERA Sale
DUAL Dubai Carnival winner Addictive Dream and the 2008 Vintage Stakes winner Orizaba head a catalogue of 156 horses for the Emirates Racing Authority Horses in Training Sale, which will be held on Saturday, February 25,in the saddling enclosure at Meydan racecourse.
Addictive Dream, a five-year-old son of Kheleyf, has won both his starts at this year's Carnival for Dandy Nicholls, most recently when taking a 6f handicap on January 12.
Other familiar names catalogued include last week's UAE Guineas third Mehdi, who forms part of a four-strong entry from Brian Meehan; the Group 3-placed Prince Shaun, who hails from Richard Guest's yard; Group 3 winner My Indy; last year's 2,000 Guineas sixth Happy Today; and European stakes winners Too Nice Name, With Interest, Fathayer and Bruges.
Stubbs Art, who ran third to Henrythenavigator in the 2008 2,000 Guineas, topped last year's ERA Horses in Training Sale when selling to Saudi Arabian-based trainer Abdulla Mishreff for AED160,000 (£26,761/€31,060).
The day's trading saw 93 horses - 84 per cent of those offered - change hands for a total of AED1,934,000 (£323,614/€376,318), down ten per cent from 2010. The average also suffered, falling 36 per cent to AED20,756 (£3,473/€4,038).
