Alsindi gets up to win the Listed Oh So Sharp Stakes

Alsindi's victory for breeder Hardisty's memory

ALSINDI, today's Listed Oh So Sharp Stakes winner is trained by Clive Brittian, is by Rathbarry stallion Acclamation, and was one from the second-last crop of horses bred by the late David Hardisty, who died July 2010.

Hardisty produced his horses from the 100-acre Oaklands Farm near Wineham, West Sussex, which he bought eight years before his death. With stud manager Jenny Norris, he produced high-class runners such as the Listed winner Persefona, the Group 2-placed Drill Sergeant, as well as the Listed winner Needles And Pins, the dam of Alsindi.

Alsindi is the dam's third foal - she is a half-sister to I Am The Best, a King's Best colt who icked up a Listed place in Dubai, and to Seamster, a winning Pivotal filly.

Alsindi was bought by Rabbah Bloodstock at the Tattersalls October Sale last year for 70,000gns by Rabbah. She now races in Saeed Manana's colours.

Brittain will be aiming her for next season's 1,000 Guineas - although Acclamation has had two Group 1 winners, the son of Royal Applauseis yet to have a Classic winner. He has had five Group 2 and Group 3 winners this season, four of which are two-year-olds of this year. He stood at €30,000 when this crop of runners was conceived.
