41 per cent sold in Goffs February early blows

THE opening session of the Goffs February Sale got off to a quiet start this morning with a section devoted to horses aged two and older.

Leading the way in the early exchanges was the winning Dalakhani five-year-old Dalaval who was bought by French agent Paul Nataf for €5,000.

Consigned from Michael Grassick's Fenpark Stables, the half-brother to the talented My Renee hasn’t run since scoring at Tramore in August 2008.

Elsewhere Hollymount house signed for a three-year-old daughter of Sinndar who made €4,200. She is a half-sister to a French Listed winner out of the Stakes scorer and Group 1-placed Mrs Arkada.

The clearance rate for 29 lots through the ring stands at 41 per cent.

Trade is expected to pick up markedly this afternoon when the yearling section begins at Lot 90.
