£20,000 fee for Newsells Park new boy Nathaniel

REGALLY bred King George and Eclipse Stakes winner Nathaniel will begin his stallion career at Newsells Park Stud in Hertfordshire at a fee of £20,000 next year.

Nathaniel arrived at Newsells Park from John Gosden's Clarehaven Stables on Sunday and he will be available for breeders to view from next week.

His studmates Equiano and Mount Nelson will stand at £8,000 and £6,000, the same fees they commanded this year.

Newsells Park general manager Julian Dollar said: "It’s great to finally have Nathaniel at Newsells Park and the whole team are very excited to have him here. The response to his syndication and his arrival at Newsells has been overwhelming and there’s no doubt he’s a terrific stallion prospect for breeders. We’re looking forward to showing him off to everybody.

“We decided to leave the fees for Equiano and Mount Nelson unchanged for next season. As Acclamation’s best son and a dual winner of the King’s Stand Stakes, Equiano has been incredibly popular with breeders since he retired to stud, covering 270 mares to date.

"He has an exceptional bunch of foals on the ground, which I am sure will be well received later this month.

"In addition, Mount Nelson has done extremely well with his first two-year-old crop. With 11 individual maiden winners of 19 races, a Group 3 winner and Group 2 second in Purr Along, as well as the multiple winners and stakes performers Ninjago and Give Way Nelson, he has a number of very promising two-year-olds for next year.

"Also, the bulk of his best bred two-year-olds have still to run for him."
