€100k Scandal Sheet leads the way at Goffs

WITH all the main lots due to come under the hammer in the second half of the day the six figure barrier has been broken just once so far today. However, trade has been picking up over the last couple of hours and Colm McEvoy's Osberstown Stud had to go to €85,000 for the J.K. Thoroughbreds consigned My Eurydice (Lot 1031). The unraced daughter of Exceed And Excel is in foal to Lope De Vega and she is a half-sister to the multiple Group 3 winner Mac Love.

Three lots later Hubert Guy forked out €60,000 for the Ballymacoll Stud-owned Fringe Success. The five-year-old daughter of Selkirk is carrying to Azamour and she is a half-sister to the Group 2-winning Stage Gift while this is also the family of the Dewhurst Stakes winner Prince Of Dance.

Earlier Jim Ryan picked up a couple of popular mares. The first of these was the Group 3 C L Weld Park Stakes runner-up Hallie's Comet (Lot 999) who is in foal to last year's outstanding sprinter Dream Ahead. Consigned by Gerrardstown House Stud, she cost €55,000. Ryan also spent €54,000 on Darley's Flaunter (Lot 1017). The four-year-old daughter of Dynaformer is carry to Manduro and she is out of the Grade 2-winning Calista.

IT HAS been relatively quiet through the early stages of the first day of the Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale but there has been one notable transaction so far with Jim Bolger's Scandal Sheet selling for €100,000.

Lot 932, who is in foal to Intense Focus, won twice for Bolger and she is now a half-sister to Glencadam Gold who has emerged as a prominent middle distance runner in Australia in recent months. The six-year-old daughter of Galileo was knocked down to the Japanese-based Kozasa Shoten Co Ltd.
